Hi Amy, this is a really good story, with strong voice and narrative. The dialogue is well-written. I read a good portion but not all. The way it is right now, it’s a tall order for a reader to digest at a single sitting on a platform like Medium. I would recommend breaking it into parts. Just a thought. Great writing though. You really captured the period and location.
