I have to point out that this was some outstanding description.

…by a horrific overdose, I sacrificed jobs and opportunities to save her life when no one else would. My family was willing to let her die all alone on her couch, caked in dried piss, mouth flapping like a fish out of water, bones like an archaeological site, eyes grey with death’s curtain.
