I really feel that the baseboard issue isn't loneliness (which is a human problem) but a cultural framework that structures what people are allowed to display or discuss in order to address their loneliness. And in that I think there is a bit of a difference between the sexes. Men are expected to veil their emotionality a little more than women, I think, as an average, which impacts the ability to foster healthy relationships. Just a thought.
