I'm not gonna lie, Carl. I'm interested in the topic, but this is so academic I have no idea what I'm reading. As someone unfamiliar with the concepts in question, I feel like I'm floating, rootless in space. I would love a dumbed down version for someone simple like me, who doesn't have a PhD in the field.
