I like to mix in what works, whatever I think engages the reader and prevents him from going comatose. I believe in the power of contrast and tension in writing, so switching styles is a great way to generate contrast and reengage the reader. I will read the piece you left for me.

I am a big fan of some visual works as well. I'm reading House of Leaves, which is a little to overdone and meandering for my tastes, but I do love authors who are willing to take chances, push boundaries, and explore. I think you might like a book: Dhalgren by Samuel R. Delany. Usually I prefer to build my verse right into the sentences but all depends on the needs of the moment.
