First off, thank you for sharing this personal story from your life. That’s a big deal. I would have liked to meet your father. What a litany of experiences. Tremendous. Terrible. I hope you got a chance to listen and learn from him. Like so many other service-members he came home with wounds. To be certain, his experiences were much more fraught than my own.

Today I am also sober. It’s a step, a chapter, in my journey. Self-discovery is unending so long as we pursue it. It’s very good to meet you here. Thank you for your sincere and careful response.
