Kera, first off I was entranced by this piece. I’ve never had a conversation with someone who has done this artistic modeling for form kind of work. Of course I know it exists. It made me very happy to hear you talk about how comfortable the first professor made you. How professional. Then enter Professor J, and while it’s not surprising, it’s still despicable. The predating mentality, the power inversion. That is not what a senior mentor is supposed to be. As an officer in the military I’ve been exposed to many instances of inverted power. I was so hoping that the woman and original professor would take some kind of action at the story’s close, but nope. You mentioned naïveté. I get that. But along the path of lost innocence we sure do realize that the real world is a kick in the teeth. A lot of dangerous or bad people out there, and many times they’re the ones protected.
