Margaret. This was very well written. Well-crafted. You tapped into a feeling of terror in the closing lines by addressing the most logical conclusion but planting a seed of doubt in the reader’s head. Like: you think you know what can and can’t happen in this world, but…do you?

King did an outstanding job of explaining the difference between gore, horror, and very fine terror in his non-fiction Danse Macabre. Your writing made me reflect his definitions of terror. I’m a fan!
