Normi, I doubt I properly understood or digested every aspect of this article, but I've been a lifelong runner. I think it's an interesting concept: how our experiences shape our experience with rhetoric. I do think there is a lot of cultural division and associated rhetoric that plays into things like fitness and which forms of fitness. Certainly there are other social influences like reach and privilege. The same could be said of swimming or golf, which is why Tiger's presence was such a unique breakthrough and exhibition.
