There is pretty much every kind of inmate worker you can imagine. Inmates run their prisons, cleaning, cooking, serving, laundering, etc. They also work in state industry programs for state agencies like DMVs, making license plates, etc., they are also ferried to local companies to work outside prisons, except that in those situations inmates actually receive a regular wage. I spent my two years in incarceration working for a wage that topped out at 37 cents per hour. I worked for two years and had about 200 dollars when I walked out. Enjoy your new life!
