This is sad. Unfortunately, this is also a largely American concept. We don't really revere or value age in our society. Some societies/cultures have high regard for those who have lived more life. I'm 37, not old, but I still don't have any fears about growing older. Maybe they'll come. Age, to me, becomes less of something you fear the more that you really live life. I take a lot of pride in the way I live my life. I've taken a lot of shots, a lot of chances, and lived big. I've chased goals and tried new things, traveled, pushed myself to grow and accomplish, and not allowed fear to dictate my choices. I'm proud of that. I think age hits differently when you are satisfied with the quality of the way you live.
